Who the fuck cares if you buy an iPhone5, or a Samsung S3. Seriously.
As of today, I am now sick of people going on and on about how the Android phones are superior, and contrary to belief, it’s not actually because I have the iPhone 4S.
YES. The iPhone 5 was underwhelming, YES it may just be catching up to some Samsung phones/other phones in the market, but I do not understand the Samsung fanboys/girls constant need to go on about how the Android phone is better. Is this another example of trying to prove that your tech-penis is bigger or something?
Seriously, if you announced you bought a new jacket/shoes/top from xyz and make a status about it, there aren’t 10 people lining up to explain why another shop was better.
Of course, smartphones are expensive, and there are limited (viable) options on the market hence increased general interest, but WHY do you ALL insist on almost attacking the iPhone purchaser?
Why can’t you all just leave them be.
I’m sure they KNOW that there are some features of Samsung phones are that superior (the far more drop resilient screen for one) or even the Nokia Lumia, which (promises) an amazing camera?
But there are SPECIFIC REASONS that a person chooses to buy Apple/Samsung/Windows and believe it or not, they’re not all based on a spreadsheet compilation of the specs!
For one, I find the aesthetics of iPhones to be far superior - they appeal to my sense of design, they also have a certain.. Weight that feels solid and good quality. Now you might think that it’s stupid to pay a bit more for the looks, but actually people do that all the times with laptops/tvs etc, why is it so terrible when we do it with smartphones?
Some people might also find that iPhone are more user friendly. One of the reasons I chose not to buy Android was actually because I knew I would not be bothered rooting it and doing all the extra stuff, and I would feel like it would be a waste.
Although I do think that it’s annoying that the Apple phones have limited customisation options available, I still appreciate the user-friendly-ness of it.
And yes, they may just like Apple products for an undefinable reason. Why the fuck is there anything wrong with that; it’s a solid business/marking approach, and I think it’s actually almost amazing that Apple has managed to create this kind of atmosphere around it’s brand image. (Much like how I endlessly admire the team of people that came up with the DeBeers slogan “diamond is forever” - most successful piece of marketing to this date).
I’m not saying Apple phones are better, or Android fans are stupid, just that it’s starting to piss the hell out of me that people feel the constant need to tell other people why their decision about the purchase of THEIR phone was wrong. (And yes I also admit there are numerous crazy Apple fans out there; same applies to them.)
When society deems that the iPhone is now less valuable than other phones, this will be reflected in a decrease of market share, and so on. It’s the law of supply and demand. Right now, Apple is still holding a giant share hold, maybe not because it has specs that are yards ahead of the competition, but there is SOMETHING there that is making consumers turn back, and that SOMETHING is as valid an argument as any.
Would just like to repeat that all this does not mean I’m a die hard Apple fan; I don’t own a Mac etc, and am very very pleased with my Windows Asus Zenbook laptop. *heart*. Next time I upgrade my phone I would definitely consider whatever phone is dominating the market, be it iPhone, Andriod, or Lumia - which comes in so many pretty colours :3
But I will not be making a status about it and defending my choice - fuck you all!
